Day Permits
Hi, I was looking to buy day permits for myself and a friend but there doesn't seem to be a telephone number for Kardz shop.
We would be travelling from Inverness and looking to head to the river early. Do we need to simply go into the shop sometime prior to the day's fishing to get the permits?

Kind Regards
Kevin.

Brown trout fishing - written permission
Hi there, I was just wondering if you need a permit or written permission from the local fishery to fish for brown trout in the Averon?

Hi John, the Alness angling club do not currently sell permits or give written permission to fish solely for brown trout on the clubs water. The club water is the lower reaches of the Alness and although the odd decent brownie might be encountered it is predominately Salmon and Sea trout we tend to see, the brown trout fishing is certainly better further up the river on beats owned by Novar estate and Kildermorie Estate.

Calum Macrae
Hi,

I was looking for Calum Macrae's email address and I understand that he is involved with the Alness Angling Club.

I haven't seen him for a number of years and he will be very OLD now.

Thank You
Hello

I spent my holidays in Scotland in May / June 2018. Our landlord at Kiltaern Country House B & B helped me to get a day ticket for the Alness.
Although I caught no fish, but it was a beautiful day on a beautiful river. You can see how much the anglers take care of their river there.
Thank you for the nice day.
best regards

Hi Ralf
We are glad you enjoyed your time on the river and that you appreciated the effort that a small group of the members put in to keep the river and banks in good condition.
